About This Song

Inspired by Philippians 2:10–11, Every Knee opens the EP with a bold declaration of the authority and victory of Jesus Christ.

The song looks forward to the day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Its repeated chants are intentionally simple and direct: the grave is empty, Jesus is alive, and He reigns over all.

This song represents surrender. It calls every person, nation and generation to recognise the one Name above every name.

Every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess. Jesus Christ is Lord.

Devotional

Philippians 2 does not say every knee might bow. It says every knee will — in heaven, on earth and under the earth. The question the passage leaves each of us is not whether we will bow, but when: now, gladly, in worship — or later, when every rival claim has fallen silent.

And notice how the passage gets there: the Name above every name was given to the One who made Himself nothing, took the nature of a servant, and became obedient to death on a cross. The highest authority in the universe was revealed in the deepest humility.

Surrender is not defeat. It is coming into agreement, early, with what all creation will one day declare.

Jesus, we bow now — gladly, freely, with everything we have. You are Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
