About This Song

I Know Your Voice opens the EP exactly where John 10 opens — at the sheep gate in the morning. "Morning is breaking, the gate opens wide; many are calling from somewhere outside." That is the modern believer's daily reality: a hundred voices before breakfast — news, notifications, opinions, fears. And then, through the noise, the one voice that calls by name.

The chorus is a simple confession of a long relationship: I know Your voice, You know my name; through every season, You stay the same. Verse two names the moments the voice matters most — when fear fills the mind and doubt hangs dark as a cloud — and gives the practical answer: "I turn to Your Word, and I listen and pray." The bridge is the gospel's safety net for wanderers: even when the sheep loses sight of the Shepherd, the Shepherd never loses the sheep — "You call me in mercy; You lead me once more."

Devotional

"His sheep follow him because they know his voice" (John 10:4).

In Jesus' day, several flocks often spent the night in one fold. In the morning each shepherd simply stood at the gate and called — and only his own sheep came. No sorting, no dragging. The voice did all the work.

Notice how the sheep learned that voice: not in the crisis, but in the countless ordinary mornings before it. Recognition is built in routine. That is why the song's answer to fear and doubt is so unglamorous — "I turn to Your Word, and I listen and pray." The believer who meets the Shepherd's voice daily in Scripture will recognise it instantly in the storm.

And treasure the order of the chorus: I know Your voice — but first, You know my name. Your recognition of Him is real, but His knowledge of you came first and runs deeper (Galatians 4:9). The gate is open. The voices are calling. Learn the one that calls you by name.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Morning is breaking, the gate opens wide
Many are calling from somewhere outside
Then through the noise comes the voice I know
You call me by name; where You lead, I will go

[Chorus]
I know Your voice
You know my name
Through every season
You stay the same

Jesus, my Shepherd
You keep me near
I know Your voice
Your Word is clear

[Verse 2]
When fear fills my mind and the world speaks loud
When doubt hangs above me, as dark as a cloud
I turn to Your Word, and I listen and pray
Your voice brings me peace and You show me the way

[Chorus]
I know Your voice
You know my name
Through every season
You stay the same

Jesus, my Shepherd
You keep me near
I know Your voice
Your Word is clear

[Bridge]
If I wander far, if I lose sight of You
Still You are faithful, still You remain true
You call me in mercy; You lead me once more
I follow You, Jesus, forevermore

[Final Chorus]
I know Your voice
You know my name
Through every season
You stay the same

Jesus, my Shepherd
You keep me near
I know Your voice
Your Word is clear

[Final Chorus – Soft Harmonies]
I know Your voice
You know my name
Through every season
You stay the same

Jesus, my Shepherd
You keep me near
I know Your voice
Your Word is clear

[Outro]
I know Your voice
You know my name
Jesus, my Shepherd
You stay the same
