Let Your Word Spread in Me draws on the spread of the Gospel in Ephesus in Acts 19. The song turns that account into a personal prayer. Let the Word Reach the Hidden Places
Read Acts 19:18–20 and James 1:21–25. In Ephesus, receiving the Gospel changed more than people’s vocabulary. Believers confessed what they had practised, and those who had used magic gave up things of considerable value. Their response showed that allegiance to Jesus mattered more than what they stood to lose.
It is possible to know Scripture while keeping certain choices beyond its reach. The prayer “Let Your Word spread in me” asks God to expose that division. What do you treasure, protect or pursue even when it pulls you away from obedience? Bring one specific area before Him without excuse.
James calls us to receive the implanted word and to do what it says. Choose a practical response to what you have read: confess a wrong, leave a harmful practice, make restitution where appropriate, or ask a trusted believer to help you grow in faithfulness. These responses do not buy God’s grace; they express trust in the Lord who gives it.
The people in Acts surrendered their own practices and possessions. This account is not permission to destroy someone else’s belongings or coerce their beliefs. Christian witness makes Jesus known through truthful words, patient love and willing obedience.
Finally, pray beyond yourself. Ask that the Gospel would be heard and lived in your home and church. Opposition did not vanish in Ephesus, but God’s word continued to work. Trust Him with the results while you take the next faithful step.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, let Your word reach every guarded part of my life. Show me what needs to change and give me grace to obey. Let Your truth grow in us, and help our homes and churches make Your name known with humility and love. Amen.
