About This Song

Lion of Judah takes the EP from the battlefield into heaven's throne room — Revelation 5, the greatest scene-reveal in Scripture. The scroll is sealed, heaven stands still, no hand is worthy. John weeps. Then the announcement: do not weep — the Lion of the tribe of Judah has triumphed. And when John turns to see the Lion, he sees a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain.

The song is built on that double vision. The low chant holds both names side by side — behold the Lion, behold the Lamb — because they are the same Jesus: slain for sinners, raised in power, crowned in glory brighter than stars. The drop crowns Him outright — the grave has lost its power, the throne belongs to Christ alone — and the group chant borrows heaven's own liturgy: worthy, worthy, holy, holy, Jesus, Jesus, You have won.

Devotional

"See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah… has triumphed." Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain (Revelation 5:5–6).

John is told to look for a Lion — and sees a Lamb. That is not a contradiction; it is the gospel. Jesus conquered not by devouring His enemies but by being slain for them. The scars are not the marks of His defeat; they are the proof of His victory. The Lamb was slain — the Lion reigns.

This changes how we understand power. Heaven's worthiness question — who can open the scroll, who is qualified to run history? — is not answered by strength, wealth, or fame. Every crown falls; every knee bows. Only sacrificial love qualifies: "You are worthy… because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation" (Revelation 5:9).

So when the song commands do not weep, lift your eyes, take it personally. Whatever sealed, impossible thing you are weeping over — the Lion has already overcome.
