May His face shine

About This Song

May His Face Shine is a blessing song inspired by Numbers 6:24–26 — a prayer that the Lord would bless, keep, protect, and give peace to those we love.

This song is dedicated to my brother and sister, who are walking through a difficult season. Sometimes we do not have the perfect words to say, and we cannot always carry the burden for those we love. But we can bring them before the Lord and speak His blessing over their lives.

My prayer through this song is that God's face would shine upon them, that His grace would surround them, and that His peace would rest on them — not only over their lives, but over their families, their children, and the generations to come.

May His Face Shine is a song of faith, family, and blessing. It is a reminder that even in hard times, God is near, His hand is steady, and His peace is still able to guard the hearts of those we love.

Devotional

The priestly blessing of Numbers 6 is one of the oldest prayers in Scripture, and God Himself gave it to be spoken over His people. Notice that it asks for nothing we can manufacture: blessing, keeping, shining, grace, and peace all flow from Him. When someone you love is walking through a hard season and your own words run out, this blessing is still yours to speak. You cannot carry their burden — but you can lift their name to the One whose face still shines, whose hand is still steady, and whose peace still guards hearts across generations.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Lord, bless this home tonight
Keep watch by every door
Let mercy settle in
Like rain on thirsty ground
Over mothers, fathers, sons
Over daughters growing strong
Let Your kindness rest on us
And make our hearts Your song

[Pre-Chorus]
Lift up Your face
Over this place
Let peace come near
And stay right here

[Chorus]
May His face shine on you
May His grace cover you
May His peace hold you close
Through every season
May His face shine on you
May His name keep you safe
May His love lead us on
For generations

[Verse 2]
Bless the table, bless the sleep
Bless the child with open hands
Bless the church when we arise
And bless the work of our days
When the burden feels too wide
When the road is long and dark
Be our shelter, be our light
Be the anchor of our hearts

[Pre-Chorus]
Lift up Your face
Over this place
Let peace come near
And stay right here

[Chorus]
May His face shine on you
May His grace cover you
May His peace hold you close
Through every season
May His face shine on you
May His name keep you safe
May His love lead us on
For generations

[Bridge]
Your blessing over us
Is stronger than the night
Your hand around our lives
Will guide us all the way
From the oldest to the young
From this house to every land
Let the words of heaven stay
Like a seal upon our hearts

[Final Chorus]
May His face shine on you
May His grace cover you
May His peace hold you close
Through every season
May His face shine on you
May His name keep you safe
May His love lead us on
For generations
May His face shine on you
May His grace cover you
May His peace hold you close
Now and always
