About This Song

My Whole Life Is Worship grows from Paul's appeal in Romans 12:1: in view of God's mercy, offer your whole self to Him as a living sacrifice. The song moves worship beyond a melody, a Sunday gathering, or lifted hands. It becomes a daily surrender of plans, ambitions, work, relationships, opportunities, and every ordinary moment.

The words begin with mercy because Christian surrender is never an attempt to earn God's love. It is the response of a life that has already received grace. The altar in the song is therefore not a place of fear, but of trust: the past and future can be placed in the hands of the One who gave Himself first.

From the quiet confession “Here I am” to the final declaration “My whole life is worship,” the song is a prayer that every part of life would belong to Jesus.

Devotional

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship” (Romans 12:1).

Paul begins with the words “in view of God's mercy.” Before he asks for surrender, he points back to grace. Worship is not a payment offered to persuade God to be merciful; it is the grateful answer of someone who has already seen His mercy in Christ.

A living sacrifice is different from a momentary offering. It rises each morning and chooses the altar again. It worships through decisions, conversations, work, rest, generosity, integrity, and obedience. Singing may express worship, but a surrendered life embodies it.

Nothing is too ordinary to be offered to God. Hands can serve, feet can go where He leads, plans can be submitted to His wisdom, and open doors can be used for His glory. The question is not only, “What song will I sing?” but, “What will my life say about the One I worship?”

Reflect: Which part of your life are you most tempted to hold back—your plans, comfort, time, future, or past? Place it before Jesus in prayer today.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
In view of Your mercy
In view of Your grace
I bring You more than singing
I bring You my life today

Not only words on Sunday
Not only lifted hands
I lay my whole life before You
And trust it to Your hands

[Pre-Chorus]
Here I am
Nothing held back
Here I am
All that I have

[Chorus]
Let my whole life be worship
Let my whole heart be Yours
Every breath, every moment
Every open door

I lay it all on the altar
My future and my past
Let my whole life be worship
Jesus, You can have it all

[Verse 2]
My comfort and ambition
The things I call my own
My plans and my tomorrow
I lay before Your throne

A sacrifice still living
Surrendered day by day
Holy and pleasing to You
Use my life Your way

[Pre-Chorus]
Here I am
Nothing held back
Here I am
All that I have

[Chorus]
Let my whole life be worship
Let my whole heart be Yours
Every breath, every moment
Every open door

I lay it all on the altar
My future and my past
Let my whole life be worship
Jesus, You can have it all

[Bridge]
Take my hands
Take my feet
Take my heart
Take all of me

Take my plans
Take my days
Take my life
For Your praise

All I am
All I do
Every part
Belongs to You

[Build]
Not just a song
Not just a sound
My living worship
Here and now

Not just my words
Not just my praise
My living worship
All my days

[Final Chorus]
Let my whole life be worship
Let my whole heart be Yours
Every breath, every moment
Every open door

I lay it all on the altar
My future and my past
Let my whole life be worship
Jesus, You can have it all

[Outro]
Here I am
Here I am
A living sacrifice

Here I am
Here I am
My whole life is worship
