About This Song
Treasure in Heaven — a worship song of eternal value — sits inside Jesus' words from the Sermon on the Mount. It is the story of a heart changing banks: moving its savings out of gold that fades, hope built on things that break, dust and clay held too tight — and into the only vault that cannot be robbed. Kingdoms rise and fall, markets shake and towers fall, but what is placed into God's hands is never lost again.
Devotional
Jesus never said "don't store up treasure." He said store it where it lasts: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven" (Matthew 6:19–20).
Then He added the line that reads every heart: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Your treasure is not just money — it is your time, your dreams, every seed sown in grace. Whatever you invest in, your heart follows.
The prayer of this song is the bravest kind: "Move my treasure, move my heart." Not just protect what I have — relocate it.
Reflect: If someone looked at your calendar and your spending this month, where would they say your treasure is? Ask Jesus for one practical way to move a treasure from earth to heaven this week.
Lyrics
[Verse 1] I chased the gold That fades away I built my hope On things that break I held too tight To dust and clay But You called me A better way [Pre-Chorus] Kingdoms rise And kingdoms fall But Your love Outlasts it all What I give Into Your hands Will never be lost again [Chorus] I'm storing up Treasure in heaven Where nothing breaks And nothing fades I'm laying down My heart forever In Your kingdom I am safe No thief can steal What I give You No grave can take What love makes new All I have Lord, let it be Treasure in heaven Alive in me [Verse 2] Take my time Take my dreams Take my heart And make it clean Every seed I sow in grace Will bloom beyond My final day [Pre-Chorus 2] Markets shake And towers fall But Your peace Can hold it all What I place Into Your hands Will never be lost again [Chorus] I'm storing up Treasure in heaven Where nothing breaks And nothing fades I'm laying down My heart forever In Your kingdom I am safe No thief can steal What I give You No grave can take What love makes new All I have Lord, let it be Treasure in heaven Alive in me [Bridge] Move my treasure Move my heart From the world To who You are Open hands Lifted eyes I was made For paradise Move my treasure Move my heart Let Your kingdom Be my start Every gift Every seed Lives forever With the King [Breakdown] Where my treasure is There my heart will be Jesus, take it all For eternity Where my treasure is There my heart will be Jesus, take it all Make heaven real in me [Final Chorus] I'm storing up Treasure in heaven Where nothing breaks And nothing fades I'm laying down My heart forever In Your kingdom I am safe No thief can steal What I give You No grave can take What love makes new All I have Lord, let it be Treasure in heaven Alive in me [Outro] Treasure in heaven My heart is Yours Treasure in heaven Forevermore Treasure in heaven Alive in me My heart is Yours Eternally
