Why Do You Seek the Living begins where the women expected to find a body. They arrive with spices, but the stone is rolled away and the tomb is empty. The question in Luke 24 overturns their expectation: Jesus is not among the dead, because He has risen.
The repeated declaration that He is alive anchors the song’s soaring dance hook in the bodily resurrection of Jesus, not simply in a feeling of renewed optimism. The bridge joins Paul’s celebration of victory over death in 1 Corinthians 15. The Lamb who gave His life now reigns, and His resurrection grounds the hope of those who belong to Him.

Hope Beyond the Grave
Read Luke 24:1–12 and 1 Corinthians 15:20–26. The women came ready to honour the dead. Instead, they were called to remember what Jesus had said and to tell others that He had risen. Their hope rested on His action, not on their ability to create a hopeful feeling.
The resurrection does not make grief unreal. Paul still calls death an enemy, but an enemy whose final defeat is certain because Christ has been raised. Believers can mourn honestly while looking forward to the resurrection He has promised.
Where does fear of loss narrow your life today? Bring that fear to the risen Lord. Let His victory give you courage for one act of love, service or truthful witness, even before your emotions catch up.
Prayer: Risen Jesus, thank You that death could not hold You. Strengthen my faith in Your promise and help me live with hope and courage today. Amen.
