About This Song

Even Now retells the raising of Lazarus through a dramatic exchange between Martha and Jesus. It begins inside four days of silence, where grief has made the house feel empty and hope has worn thin. Jesus answers not merely with a promise about the distant future, but with His present identity: “I am the Resurrection. I am the Life.” Martha’s confession—“Even now, I still believe”—becomes the turning point. The stone moves, Christ calls, and the grave surrenders to the voice of the Son.

Devotional

“But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask” (John 11:22).

Martha’s words hold grief and faith in the same sentence. She does not hide her disappointment: “Lord, if you had been here…” Yet she also says, “even now.” Her faith is wounded, but it is still turned toward Jesus.

Christ meets her with something greater than an explanation. He says, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Before Lazarus walks out, Martha is invited to trust who Jesus is. That is often where faith begins again—not with changed circumstances, but with a clearer sight of Christ.

“Even now” does not mean God must do exactly what we ask or on our timetable. It means no circumstance places us beyond His presence, authority, or resurrection hope.

Reflect: Complete this prayer honestly: “Lord, I wish You had…, yet even now I believe…” Bring both the grief and the trust to Him.

Lyrics

[Intro] [Female Solo Vocal]

Four days of silence, four days of rain,
I watched the road and called Your name.
I held to hope, but hope wore thin.
Lord, had You come, death would not win.

[Verse 1] [Female Solo Vocal]

I know he’ll rise when time is through,
At final dawn, when all is new.
But now this house lies cold and bare;
His empty place is everywhere.

[Instrumental Vocal Change]

[Verse 2] [Deep Male Bass Solo Vocal]

Your brother’s story is not done.
The grave must answer to the Son.
I am the Resurrection here.
I am the Life that conquers fear.

Who trusts in Me, though they may die,
Will live beneath eternal skies.
Believe in Me, and you shall see
The Father’s glory here through Me.

[Deep Tribal Drum Transition]

[Pre-Chorus] [Female Solo Vocal]

You are the Christ, God’s holy Son,
The promised and Anointed One.
I came with grief too deep to bear,
Yet even now, I know You care.

[Chorus] [Female Solo Vocal]

Even now, I still believe.
Even now, Your word I receive.
Even now, Your word is true.
Even now, You will break through.

Move the stone and let it show:
You are Christ, and this I know.
Even now, my heart will sing:
You are Christ, the living King.

[Massive Tribal Drum Break]

[Verse 3] [Deep Male Bass Solo Vocal]

Father, I know You hear My prayer,
So all may know Your power is there.
I speak so all may hear Me now,
And every doubting heart may bow.

[Male Refrain] [Deep Male Bass Solo Vocal]

Take the stone and move away.
Death will hear My voice today.
Lazarus, come forth and breathe!
Leave the grave and come to Me!

Lazarus, come forth and breathe!
Leave the grave and come to Me!

[Heavy War Drum Solo]

[Tagelharpa and Wooden Flute Solo]

[Instrumental Vocal Change]

[Bridge] [Female Solo Vocal]

I saw him step into the sun,
And all could see what You had done.
The cloth fell loose, his hands set free;
The grave surrendered by decree.

The house once filled with grief and gloom
Now rang with praise beside the tomb.
You shared our tears, then raised the dead,
And every chain of fear had fled.

[Final Chorus] [Female Solo Vocal]

Even now, I still believe.
Even now, Your word I receive.
Even now, Your word is true.
Even now, You have broken through.

Move the stone and let it show:
You are Christ, and this I know.
Even now, my heart will sing:
You are Christ, the living King.

[Massive Drum and Guitar Break]

[Final Male Refrain] [Deep Male Bass Solo Vocal]

Take the stone and move away.
Death must hear My voice today.
Lazarus, come forth and breathe!
Leave the grave and come to Me!

I am the Resurrection.
I am the Life.
