About This Song
Holy is the Lord steps into Isaiah's vision: the Lord high and lifted up, the train of His robe filling the temple, seraphim crying "holy" to one another until the doorposts shake and the house fills with smoke. And then the vision turns personal — the voice of the Lord asks "Whom shall I send?", and the anthem answers the only way worship can: "Here am I. Send me."
Devotional
The seraphim don't sing "holy" once. They sing it three times — holy, holy, holy — because once is not enough for who God is.
But notice where Isaiah's vision ends. Not in the smoke and shaking doorposts, but in a commission: "Whom shall I send?" True worship always moves from awe to availability. The man who saw the throne is the man who said "Send me."
Reflect: Worship that stops at the song is unfinished. What is God asking you to say "Here am I" to this week?
Lyrics
[Verse 1] Holy, holy I saw the Lord, high upon His throne The train of His robe filled the temple High and lifted up, high and lifted up The Lord Almighty, high and lifted up And the angels cry, one to another: [Chorus] Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Holy, holy, holy is the Lord The whole earth is full of His glory The whole earth is full of His glory Holy, holy, holy is the Lord The Lord Almighty [Verse 2] The doorposts shook at the sound of their voices The temple was filled with smoke [Bridge] "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" Here am I, here am I — send me Here am I — send me Here am I For the Lord is holy, the Lord is worthy Here am I — send me [Final Chorus] Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Holy, holy, holy is the Lord The whole earth is full of His glory The whole earth is full of His glory Holy is the Lord
