About This Song
Worthy is the Lamb sings the drama of Revelation 5. Heaven falls silent over a sealed scroll — "Who is worthy?" — and John weeps until the answer comes: do not weep, the Lion of Judah has overcome. But when he looks, he sees a Lamb bearing the marks of sacrifice, standing, alive forevermore. The choir builds from the question to the roar of every creature in heaven: worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
Devotional
Heaven's greatest surprise is a substitution. John is told to look for a Lion — the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the conqueror. But when he turns, he sees a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain.
The Lion IS the Lamb. God's power won its victory through sacrifice. The scars are not the aftermath of the triumph — they are the triumph.
By His blood He purchased a people from every tribe and tongue and nation — which means the song of Revelation 5 already has your language in it.
Reflect: When you feel unworthy, remember the direction of the song: it is not "worthy are we" — it is "worthy is the Lamb." Rest your worth on His.
