About This Release
Let Us Pray was written to provide background music for quiet time: reminders of why we pray, who we are in Christ, and how completely we depend on Him. The purpose is not to draw attention away from prayer, but to help return the heart to God. We are not our own source of life or strength; Christ is central, and all we have is received by grace.
These five prayers move through listening, honesty, waiting, refuge and love. Open my eyes asks for understanding as Scripture is read. Search me invites God’s correction. How long, Lord? brings sorrow into His presence without abandoning trust. Higher than I asks for refuge beyond personal strength. Rooted in Your love closes with Paul’s prayer for believers to be strengthened and grounded in Christ.
Drawn from the Psalms and Ephesians, the EP is intended to accompany Bible reading and personal prayer. Its call to humility is not a declaration that people are worthless, but a confession that apart from Christ we cannot produce the life He gives. He is everything; we come as those who need Him and are loved by Him.

Prayer begins with God, not with our ability to create the perfect quiet moment.
These songs offer words for five familiar needs: understanding, repentance, endurance, refuge and assurance. Each need brings us back to dependence. We ask for opened eyes because understanding is not merely an achievement. We ask to be searched because we do not always see our own hearts clearly. We lament because life can hurt, seek shelter because our strength is limited, and ask to be rooted in love because grace—not performance—is the foundation of life in Christ.
Jesus’ words in John 15:5 place dependence at the centre: branches bear fruit by remaining in Him. This does not make the people He loves meaningless. It frees us from acting as if we must be our own saviour. Our identity is received in Christ, and our hope rests in Him.
Use the music as a quiet companion, not a requirement for God to hear you. Read one of the passages, pause the music if you need silence, and speak honestly to the Father. You may remain with a single prayer rather than move through every track. The purpose is attention to God, not completion of a routine.
Prayer: Father, bring my attention back to You. Open my eyes, search my heart, sustain me in waiting, shelter me in weakness and root me in the love of Christ. Remind me that all my life depends on Your grace. Amen.
